South Bend Attorney Richard Deahl joins Great Lakes Capital as General Counsel & Principal

SOUTH BEND, IND. – Indiana-based real estate private equity firm, Great Lakes Capital (GLC) has hired Rich Deahl as General Counsel and Principal. Rich brings to the firm more than 20 years of legal experience with Barnes & Thornburg LLP, including a decade serving as GLC’s lead outside counsel. Deahl has supported GLC’s growth to its current $500 million assets under management, assisted with launching the GLC Stabilized Income Fund and played a critical role in GLC’s significant public-private partnership ventures. Noteworthy ventures include Ignition Park – a high-tech park developed in cooperation with the City of South Bend and University of Notre Dame – expansion of logistical distribution parks in Northern Indiana; Skyline Tower in Fort Wayne, Ind.; BorgWarner in Noblesville, Ind.; and Wildhorse, an $85 million mixed-use project in Chesterfield, Mo.

South Bend's Great Lakes Capital taps Tracey Vallejo as controller
(South Bend, Ind.)  Great Lakes Capital announced today that Tracey Vallejo has joined its team of professionals as controller. Vallejo comes to GLC from Genesis Products in Elkhart, where she worked as corporate controller. Previously, she was an internal auditor with Zimmer Biomet in Warsaw, and for 10 years she served as a manager for Crowe Horwath in Elkhart.

In her role as controller, Vallejo will oversee all financial activities within the company, including cash forecasts, corporate and fund level accounting, investor relations, insurance and fund performance analysis.

Developer eyes two Front Street lots

TRAVERSE CITY — A South Bend, Ind., developer is planning a new building along the Boardman River’s shore in downtown Traverse City

Joe Sarafa, who along with Erik Falconer owns 309 W. Front St., confirmed Great Lakes Capitalhas a purchase option on the lot. Plans sent to the Traverse City Planning Department show a four-story building with 96 apartments, two street-level retail spaces and a leasing office.
